Blushing Biddies

A look into beauty, that doesn't harm our furry friends

US Haul part 2: Sephora

Oh yeah, you know if you don’t live in the US and you’re a beauty lover, you HAVE to make a stop at Sephora. With all the holiday kits being freshly released right before I arrived, I knew I had a good chance of getting my hands on a lot of goodies!

First little bit was actually part of my early-Christmas gift from my sister (thank yoouuu!), the Tarte Off The Cuff Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Blush Palette. Not only is the packaging adorable, but on the outside of the palette you get an actual bracelet (*cough*cuff*cough*). I’ve worn the cuff out before, and I really like it- thank you Tarte for giving us something we’ll actually use! *thumbs up*

Inside the palette are 4 blushes (Crazed, Dazzled, Darling, and Dollface) and one bronzer (the fan-favorite, Park Princess).  I was so excited when I saw this was released, because I truly do not have any colors like this in my blush collection and Tarte blushes are highly spoken of in the beauty community. For the winter months I’ve been heavily leaning towards Dazzled, a soft rose color. A little goes a long way, I’ll probably be working on this palette for the next 5 years, LOL.

Next thing on my list was from…surprise surprise… Tarte! I had to hit up the other gift sets from the Tarte line to help bulk-up my meager make-up collection. And along the way, I added some Josie Maran in the mix too!

I was pretty stoked for the Tarte Pure Delights LipSurgence Lip Set. One, I’m lip crayon OBSESSED. Why are lip crayons so much more appealing to me instead of glosses and regular lipsticks? Secondly, I was happy for the little variety the kit offers. I wouldn’t go out and hand select some of the colors in the set, but this way I have a mini-size to play around with and try some new options out. The added bonus was the minty goodness- yum! As for the Tarte Thoughtful Treasures Best-Sellers Set, it’s a small set that has the basics at a GREAT price ($19- SOLD). I recently have dived into the world of oils, and I never heard of Maracuja before. So of course I had to get my hands on some. The fact that it’s travel size is just all the more reason to want it. Plus the full-sized blush in the limited edition color Thankful was right up my alley. To top it off, I’m a sucker for those “adjusts color to your personal PH” lip colors, so the mini LipSurgence was a no-brainer. No regrets about this lil’ kit! Going off the Tarte bandwagon, I’ve also become a big fan of Josie Maran not only for her oils, but for her makeup as well. So the Josie Maran’s Escape To Morocco Holiday Lights & Brights Kit seemed like a great choice- especially because I’m more into the Argan Oil Light. Even though I’ve had it for a while, I haven’t dipped into the other goodies yet, but it also included a cream blush stick, a lip gloss, and illimunizer. Stay tuned for when I crack those guys open!

Last but not least, behold! The Bite Beauty Best Bite set. In this awesome and practical tin (complete with mirror!) are four highly pigmented lip pencils. Seriously, these pencils are right up there with the Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencils, both in color, lasting power, and stain. As with the LipSurgence set, I was happy for the variety, because I usually shy away from the bold and bright colors. It was thanks to this kit that I actually wore the bold red color ( Cranberry, second from the bottom) to a wedding I attended while I was back at home. No problem with dinner and drinks, and just reapplied once for pictures! Plus, it handled amazingly during one of the most… crazy, drunken nights I’ve ever had in my life. I don’t…want to remember everything, LOL. I promise to do a more in-depth review on this set specifically, because it’s just fantastic and I am head-over-heels in love with this brand now.

Want to see more? THERE WILL BE MORE! Part 3 of my US haul is coming up… next stop? Ulta!
