A look into beauty, that doesn't harm our furry friends
I thought I covered a good amount of products in my last post here, as the silhouette teaser-page for 2014 Spring arrivals seemed to prep us for other mascaras and single shadows. Go figure Nyx decided to devote ANOTHER teaser-page for even more goodies!
With every item filled in, I’m HOPING Nyx got everything out of their system now. I already went crazy for the new butter gloss colors, along with the new butter lipsticks in my last rant, but now I’m ready to add the new baked blushes, baked eye shadows, and the dark circle concealer to my never-ending want list.
First up, the baked blushes. Not a new concept, but a product I currently do not own. *GASP* I know, I’m a horrible attempt at a beauty blogger. I’ll try to get my act together by getting my mitts on a few of these guys. I’m intrigued by Foreplay (pink with golden shimmer- a Nars orgasm dupe possibly?), Full-On Femme (light pink with a shimmer sheen), Solstice (medium-tan with a pink sheen), and Statement Red (muted red with silver shimmer). With 12 colors, there seem like a ton of options to play around with, and the price tag of $7 each isn’t offensive. I’m only slightly hesitant because I’ve heard such great things about Milani’s baked blushes, those being in the drugstore (coupons and savings, huzzah!) at $7.99. I think a comparison is in order here- stay tuned!
Next up are Nyx’s baked shadows. I only have one baked shadow in my possession (from e.l.f., love!), and I’d gladly like to try a few more. Though not as cheap as e.l.f.’s version at $3 each, Nyx definitely wins with the color selection at a whopping 33. Shown above is Rosegold. Is it just me… or is the color swatch completely different than the sample image on the left? Other colors that have caught my eye are Vortex (deep reddish brown), Vesper (silvery taupe), Kush (forest green), and Posh (silvery pink with glitter). Choose carefully, as they’re coming in at $6 each.
I don’t know about you, but I’m still on the hunt for a HG (holy grail) dark circle concealer. I’m currently using Nyx’s Incredible Waterproof concealer, which works pretty well, but doesn’t completely cancel out my purple-blue bags. Hopefully this is the product I’ve been waiting for, having a slight orange-peach tinge to help cancel out the unwanted colors. There are 4 different colors, so hopefully you can find a match for your skin tone. At $6, I’m glad to give this guy a go.
I know the next time I hit a Nyx counter, it’s not gonna be pretty for my wallet. But hopefully it will be for my face? We’ll see, soon enough!
