Acure Organics- My first products
I recently made a trip to my local Whole Foods, and ended up with a ton of skincare products and maybe… 2 items from the grocery, heh! You have to cut me some slack: 1- having a “local” Whole Foods is still kind of blowing my mind, and 2- even some of my groceries were purchased for skincare reasons (I really need to do a post on the joys of Apple Cider Vinegar.). Anywhoo, I’ve been reading some great things about Acure Organics, and thought I’d dive in to some of their products. Side note: I’m just going to say a lovely Youtube gal by the name of Ashley, aka MakeupTIA helped influence my choices ^^;;
- lemongrass + moroccan argan oil firming body lotion: I’m actually running short on most of my body and skincare supplies, as they are on a boat from Hong Kong. I do have a lotion (Lush’s Charity Pot), but when Ashley mentioned how this lotion line sinks into the skin quickly, I was ready to give it a shot. She spoke the truth, and I can throw on my jeans or leggings moments after applying this on my skin. Acure Organics carries a few other scents that have different properties (hydrating, triple moisture, ect), but I’m happy that my favorite scent of Lemongrass was paired with Firming. I used to use firming lotions from Jergens and St. Ives, but since both of those aren’t cruelty free, I’m glad to report I’ve finally found a replacement. Just a note- the lemongrass scent isn’t very sweet, as I’ve almost become accustomed to, but it isn’t overpowering either. Trust me, this line of lotions is pretty fantastic, and you’ll definitely find one that’s right for you.
- facial toner balancing rose + red tea: Ashley also mentioned this, giving it a pretty rave review. I’ve been looking for a toner that I can just spray on, instead of applying to a cotton round. This formula is more for oily-prone skin, which isn’t exactly what I need, as I’m more normal-skin. However, I thought this might help with my hormonal acne along my jawline to prevent any buildup/clogged pores. My plan is to carry the bottle and do a few little spitz-touch-ups throughout the day.
- oil control facial moisturizer: lillac stem cells + 1% chlorella growth factor: My hormonal acne is no surprise to the readers of this blog, and it’s still a constant battle. I saw this in the wide selection of Acure Organics products at Whole Foods (they have a -ton- of different products, I want to try some shampoos next), and thought I would give it a try. I’m not 100% on the results of this, as I don’t have oily skin, but hoping to calm down my “chacne”. The good news though is that a lot of it’s claims are true: it’s very lightweight yet doesn’t compromise on how moisturizing it is, and leaves the skin feeling very soft. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for this one!
If you’re interested in this line, but don’t have a Whole Foods near you, don’t fret! I checked their website, and it looks like they have free ground shipping on all orders. That’s very impressive! Plus, they proudly use the official cruelty free logo, which definitely puts my mind at ease when I’m shopping new products. Of the three products, I would highly recommend the lotion. The other two, I’m still just in the beginning stages of testing, and I’ll report back once I have a better analysis 😀
