A look into beauty, that doesn't harm our furry friends
When Real Techniques announced their 4 new retractable brushes earlier this year, I thought I was going to pounce on all of them. Yet when I visited my local Ulta, the only one I thought I didn’t really have in my current brush collection was the lip brush. Retailing at $5.99 USD, picking this up didn’t hurt my wallet at all (not like some other brushes I’ve been eying *sobs*), and fit into my purse with ease.
The great thing about all of the Real Techniques brushes is that they are made of synthetic bristles, which means no harm to any furry friends. Usually fans of the line rave about how each brush is soo soft, but with the lip brush it’s more of the opposite side of the spectrum- the bristles are nice and firm. If they were too soft, I doubt it would be able to pick up enough product and evenly distribute them over your lips. I’ve used this brush to help detail my lip line after applying color to my lips, along with dabbing the brush directly onto the lipstick bullet and painting the color to my lips. Either way, I’m a big fan of how the application turns out. The rounded/tapered top helps me apply product perfectly around my cupid’s bow and the inner corners of my lips. Plus, I feel like my lip color tends to last a little longer with the painting-on method, as you’re really working the product onto the lips with more pressure and precise strokes.
The other big perk about this item is that it’s a retractable brush, which is perfect for carrying with you on the go. You’ll never have to fret about bent bristles, just follow the quick 3-step closing process to keep everything in check!
This might be my new go-to for applying any darker lip color, just to make sure I can get the best application possible, along with as much longevity as the product will allow. ❤
