My latest skincare obsession with Acure Organics

I have a tendency to jump into one brand at a time for my complete skincare needs, to see if it can fit the bill all around. My last obsession was with Michael Todd, and after trying 5-6 products, only 2 remained in my must-have pile. The brand provided international shipping from their website, which was absolutely essential since I was in Hong Kong. Now a days though I have conveniences aplenty, from Whole Foods to Amazon, and I’ve been able to dabble into more cruelty free skincare options. Once I heard some suggestions from Makeup TIA, I soon found a new line that’s left a great impression on me: Acure Organics. From their website they state:

Acure Organics is a family owned and operated company founded on sustainable principles to provide the highest quality fair trade, natural and certified organic personal care products. Our products are created with great care and are a reflection of our values. Each of our products is free from animal testing, parabens, sulfates, phthalates, synthetic fragrances, harmful preservatives and artificial colors. We travel the globe to find the most potent certified organic ingredients that meet our high standards of efficacy and purity. We thank you for sharing in our mission to have a positive impact on the world we live in. “I founded Acure Organics as a way to honor my grandmother, who battled breast cancer for over 10 years. I wanted to help raise money for breast cancer research and awareness while also providing healthy products that promote healthier living and a greener planet. We are proud to donate to Bright Pink and to help provide free mammograms to at risk women.”—Kristy Guerra

Aside from a brand being cruelty free, there are usually a few things I check for that are NOT in their products: sulfates, parabens, and fragrances. These three ingredients usually do more harm than good, and I’ve been better off without them in my routine. Since Acure Organics fit the bill, I grabbed a few products to put to the test.

Let’s start things off with what I use in the morning. I usually have a bigger routine in the evening, where as the morning is more geared to lightly cleansing and prepping my skin with SPF before applying makeup. Considering the night before I’ve probably done a mask or some sort of treatment, my face doesn’t need to be rigorously cleansed as I rise and shine. That’s where the Facial Cleanser Gel Superfruit + Chlorella Growth Factor comes in handy- it’s light enough for the day, but also a perfect product to start off with at night before my more intense treatments. The product claims: “This gentle cleanser works on two levels–it washes away dirt and oil as well as removes makeup to leave your skin radiant and refreshed. An antioxidant dense cleansing complex that maintains your skin’s natural acid mantle, activates new cell growth and helps you look younger and feel better. Fair Trade Organic Olive Oil and Organic Chlorella Growth Factor provide the ultimate cell boosting blend.”. So in the morning I can just wash off anything extra and unnecessary from the night before, but in the evening it helps ensure I removed all my makeup and preps my skin for the procedure ahead.

You only need a small dollop of this to work over your entire face, and I love to pair it with my Sephora Precision Pore Cleansing Pad. It lathers up slightly, and leaves my face feeling refreshed once I rinse it off. My skin never feels tight or dry once I’m done washing it, which to me equals perfection! Balance is key to a healthier and happy face. I feel like I’m barely making a dent in my bottle, since a little goes a long way.

The biggest problem with my skin is the sebum buildup along my chin and around my mouth. It usually leads to acne bumps that are deep underneath the skin, and take forever and a day to heal. In an attempt to keep my face hydrated but prevent sebum, I reach for this once I’m ready to moisturize, the Oil Control Facial Moisturizer: Lillac Stem Cells + 1% Chlorella Growth Factor. It’s super light, and I can layer my SPF over it and not have any irritation or feeling of product piled up on my face (plus my skin can react oddly to SPF, so it’s nice I have something in the middle that’s pretty neutral). My only complaint with this product is that around the dispenser, product tends to collect and “clog up” the area, which really can be frustrating (and kind of hilarious- since I don’t want my pores to be clogged up… hmm). Not a deal breaker, but just not fond of trying to wipe the spout down before getting my daily fix. I haven’t seen any great improvement in my skin from using it, but also no negative effects either.

For my evening skincare routine, step one is when I come home I immediately remove my makeup with a facial wipe (you can see my post about cruelty free options here ). To keep my skin from feeling tight I follow up with a few spritzes of the Facial Toner with Balancing Rose + Red Tea. It’s lightly hydrating, but mainly focuses on keeping my pores balanced for the period I’m lazing about the apartment until I start my full-on evening routine. The big perk about this product is that you can read each item in the ingredients and know EXACTLY what they are! No mind-boggling chemical names here, thank goodness! Rose soothes the skin, where the Rooibos Tea and Witch Hazel combine to give the skin just a slight dose of astringent goodness to battle any excess oil. At first I thought I didn’t care for this product, but I found myself going through a bottle within a month! The next few days felt horrible without it, and I soon rushed to the store to get my fix.

I have a few other Acure Organics products in my arsenal, but I’m still curious in their masks and scrubs in order of judging if they’re the real deal for an efficient one-brand skincare line. Have you tried anything from them? Also, stay tuned this week, as I’ll be discussing another product in their line that’s pretty much hit Holy Grail status for me ❤

I totally do the same thing! Buy practically everything at once from the same brand haha! I love their body lotion! Takes a bit of work to rub in (maybe I just use too much…thats probably very likely), but wonderful!

I'd love to hear your thoughts!
