A Holy Grail Product? Physicians Formula Organic wear 100% Natural Origin Jumbo Lash Mascara

Biddy is FASCINATED with the container!

This week I’m going to highlight some of my HG (holy grail) products that have made it to the top of my favs list, and first up is a mascara I’ve been CRAVING to have back in my rotation. You see, when you attempt beauty blogging, you try a lot of products, and out of all cosmetics mascaras have the shortest shelf life. The recommended usage period is 3 months, but I do push it every now and then to 6, tops.  Due to this, I never like having more than 2 different mascaras open at a time. I fall into this habit mainly because 1- I’m thrifty, 2- I hate wasting product, and 3- I want to get a real feel for a product and not have 10 different options out on the table at once. It must be…a month and a half since I used up my last bottle of this mascara, and I absolutely miss it! Pretty much this is how my heart feels about not being able to use it…

♫ Baby come back! You can blame it all on me! ♫

I’m just about to finish my 100% Pure Black Tea Mascara, and instead of trying out another new formula I know I’m going to open one of my 3 back-ups of the *deep breath* Physicians Formula Organic wear 100% Natural Origin Jumbo Lash Mascara. First, let’s dig into the knitty-gritty of this oh-so-loved product.

The claims:

  • 100% of the Total Ingredients are from Natural Origin.
  • 70% of the Total Ingredients are from Organic Farming.
  • 100% Dramatic Volume & Glamour.
  • OrganiSoy® Moisturizes and helps nourish lashes.
  • Eco-Olive® a natural antioxidant, shields lashes from harsh environmental aggressors.
  • Hypoallergenic. Fragrance free. Opthamologist approved.

Part of the reason why I love this mascara soo much is because of the formula- there are great ingredients, and there is nothing in it that’s really damaging or dangerous to the eye area. Trust me, of all places I’m paranoid of chemicals or junk, it is definitely the eyes. I can barely wear contacts for crying out loud *shudders*. Secondly is the look you can achieve with this. I consider this my go-to “natural look” mascara, but it does look like you have mascara on. It just isn’t pumped up with crazy volume or intense thickness. I don’t believe this mascara gives you the “100% Dramatic Volume” as it says in the claims, but it gives you just enough to be flattering. I hope that made sense. It is build-able however, so you can achieve maybe a 30% volume-buff on the first go, and work you way up to maybe 50% on the second coating. It does do a beautiful job lengthening and separating though with just one coat- thus, working so well as my “natural look” mascara. Plus, this does hold a curl, which is fantastic for a formula that isn’t waterproof. Finally, this mascara has great lasting power, doesn’t flake (although yes it can occasionally smudge), and washes off like a dream. I can get all my mascara off with just a makeup towelette, and I never feel like I have to be too abrasive getting it off.

The one quirk about the Organic wear 100% Natural Origin Jumbo Lash Mascara is the wand- c’mon, just look at that thing! I’m gonna be honest.. there’s been more than one occasion where I’ve accidentally jabbed this right into my eye. It’s just a small adjustment you have to make though, in comparison to how you may be used to using other wands. You’ve been warned!

There are a few other variations of this mascara from Physicians Formula, including a waterproof formula, but I’m just so content with this I’m not as curious to try the others! One day I’ll step out of my comfort zone and pick up one the others- especially since there always seems to be a sale happening with this line. Target, Rite-Aid, CVS, Walgreens, Bartells, and Ulta carry Physicians Formula and I’ve seen a sale at each store for the line. It’ll always vary, but I highly suggest following Nouveau Cheap, as she is the queen of sales and discounts- her weekly roundup posts are especially helpful. Usually sales for Physicians Formula include B1G1Free or 40% off, which quite honestly is the only time I buy from the line. So usually a container will retail at appx $10, but if I’m smart and shop during a sale time, I can walk out with 2 for $5 each. $5 each for a holy grail product- are you convinced yet?! Okay, if not, I’m gonna let Donna finish things up:

Physicians Formula Organic wear 100% Natural Origin Jumbo Lash Mascara, $9.99 USD at Ulta and other drugstores

I do like the plasticy wands – find them easier to work with! I really want to try this mascara but it is a pain to find in the UK! X

I have to try this! I’ve had a difficult time finding an inexpensive cruelty free mascara for some reason. Thanks for the post 🙂

I’ve seen this mascara around a lot, and now you’ve got me curious! The packaging is a bit ridiculous, but from everything else you’ve said it looks like it’s totally worth trying. That wand might be a bit big, but I actually like plastic bristles when they are short and spaced like that- good for separation! Nice review!

And, I’m so with you on the mascaras! I often have a few open at a time, and that’s just BAD, and you can’t get a solid feel for one. I’m trying to just have two open at a time now.

Ooh I am interested in trying this! I’ve been loving Dr Hauschka’s mascara but I am almost out and wondered about re-purchasing or trying another brand, especially as it’s so expensive :/ Might have to give this one a try!

It’s at least a cheaper option! I like having a little price-range versatility in all my makeup :3
