A look into beauty, that doesn't harm our furry friends
Wow, I said this week I would post some HG products, but I’ve seriously been slacking! Let’s just thank my hectic schedule and amazing lack of planning for that. So today I’m going to talk about 2 different products, to make up for lost ground. Whether I’m having a crazy-hectic-gotta-be-fast morning, or just wanting something I know I can count on, I go to these two. Let’s first talk about the e.l.f. dual clear eyebrow gel/mascara. I usually use this on my eyebrows to lock them into place, and this does an amazing job for that. I’ve also used it just like a mascara, and it does not disappoint! If you’ve never used a clear mascara before, it’s pretty nice. Definitely the more “all natural” look, but some days I just want to define my lashes a little but not deal with any possible flaking or smudges. Oh, and did I mention this is only $1? YUP. So move other other brow gels or clear mascaras, e.l.f. pretty much has you beaten.
Next up is a chubby eyeshadow stick I picked up at Nordstrom Rack for probably 1/4 of it’s retail price (note: you can get Burt’s Bee’s and Urban Decay there for usually 50% off, if you want to be thrifty :3). Urban Decay never disappoints with their eye products, and this 24/7 Glide-On Shadow Pencil in Rehab is no exception. This is pretty much a perfect taupe-brown, and would look flattering on just about everyone. This shadow pencil is great at not only being a beautiful color, but also staying on as a base that does not crease.
Once you apply it on the eyelid, you have a short amount of time to play around with it before the color sets. I highly recommend only working one eye at a time! Just to give you an idea about this staying power though- I did the swatch on my arm this morning, around 9:30am, and I’m finishing this post at 11pm and it HAS NOT BUDGED. I haven’t been sitting at home all day either, I’ve been hustling and bustling at work, sweating a little outside, and have been intentionally trying to wipe it off to see if it would go anywhere. Trust me, once this bad boy has set, it’s SET. My favorite way to use the shadow pencil is to just apply on the outer corners of my eyelids, to give a very-slight smokey look. Just think of filling in a slight triangle on your outer corners, and smudging the edges to appear a little softer. Easy peasy, nice n’ easy! This combined with perfectly locked eyebrows equals a happy camper. 😀
