A look into beauty, that doesn't harm our furry friends
Alright, I’m bucklin’ down back here on the blog- no more going MIA for a week, that’s just bad of me *slaps hand*. I’m all rev’ed up and ready to go with a new brand focus for you, Ilia Beauty. Founded by Sasha Plasvic in 2011, Ilia Beauty is a rather new up-and-coming organic beauty brand. They first started out with just 6 Tinted Lip Conditioners, but now have 10 of those, along with: 9 lipsticks, 6 lip crayons, 2 lip care sticks, and 7 lip glosses. That’s just for lips though- they’ve also branched out into other types of makeup, including 4 multi-sticks, 2 illuminators, 4 mascaras, and a powder. Ilia Beauty is Leaping Bunny certified, as well as USDA Organic certified and Gluten/Dairy free. Also a little more information from the website, “All cream lip products are housed in a sleek recycled aluminum case. Each product is filled with up to 85% bioactive organic ingredients. A combination of on trend pigments and super nourishing elements has set ILIA apart from the conventions of organic beauty.” I love reading about all these ‘good-for-you’ decisions the company has made, to provide us with an exceptional quality product.
I have 4 different products for you this week, but I’m starting off strong with my favorite one of them all: Ilia Beauty Tinted Lip Conditioner in “Blossom Lady”. I mean, come on, just look at it, it’s stunning! This is such an effortless color. Their website labels it as a “muted pink”, but to me it’s just perfection. This color isn’t bound by any season, and works beautifully both with a natural look or as a more subtle lip combined with a smokey eye. Plus, I’d just like to note that the packaging does feel fantastic- just so sleek, clean, and contemporary.
Since this is a tinted lip conditioner and not a lipstick, it has a sheerer color payoff, but don’t take that as a bad thing. It can be built up to a beautiful color, and is extremely comfortable on the lips. Thanks to all the oils/butter/wax/Vitamin E, this is the perfect product for the person who wants to give their lips some TLC but still look like they’re wearing makeup.
Ingredients: Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil*, Jojoba (Simmondsia Chinensis) Seed Oil*, Beeswax (Cera Alba)*, Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax, Sesamum Indicum (Seasame) Seed Oil*, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter*, Tocopheryl Acetate (Natural Vitamin E), Pomegranate (Punica Granatum) Seed Extract, Grape (Vitis Vinifera) Seed Extract, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Fruit Oil, Jasminum Officinale (Jasmine) Oil, Vanilla Planifolia Fruit Oil. May Contain: Mica, Titanium Dixoide, Iron Oxide (CI 77499, CI 77492, CI 77491), Red 7 CI15850, Red 28 CI45410, Yellow 5 CI19140.
Even though my lips were a little chapped, this product was pretty forgiving. If my love for ‘Blossom Lady’ hasn’t come across enough, let me just tell ya: this is easily in my “Top 10 Products of 2014”. I’d highly recommend this specific color from the Tinted Lip Conditioner line, as tomorrow’s post will explain that not all Tinted Lip Conditioner were created equally.
