A look into beauty, that doesn't harm our furry friends
Oooo la la! What do we have here? If you aren’t familiar with the packaging, these little beauties are from Charlotte Tilbury, a line from the makeup artist herself. She’s been in the makeup artistry business for over 20 years, but her makeup line just started in 2013 and has hit the US market this year. I think as I write this, she’s having her first grand opening of products hitting a store in California… she’s moving onwards and upwards! She has an amazing line of products, and as she continues to progress, I’m just keeping my fingers AND toes crossed that she will remain cruelty free! There have already been correspondences with customer service about the line’s CF status and if her products are sold in any countries that require animal testing (you can check out Phyrra’s email here ), and so far everything’s in the green. So let’s stop blabbing about that and move on to the goodies!
*angels sing* I don’t know if it’s the amazing packaging (that lipstick bullet- DROOOL!!) or the unique two-toned idea for blush, but these products are so flippin’ pretty I can barely contain myself. There is a lot of detail put everywhere- from the signature rose-gold tone in all of the product packaging to her trademark little star. I think just the over-all Art Deco feel to the packaging is what wins. It’s very classy, sophisticated, and mature- a style I think that will never go out of….style, LOL!
The blush on the left is First Love from her Cheek to Chic ‘Swish and Pop’ collection, and you guys, this is seriously some amazing stuff. Hands down, this is the MOST FAVORITE blush I own! EASILY. If I could only have one blush for the rest of my life, this is it, no questions asked and no hesitations. Do I have your attention now? In the pan, you probably wouldn’t think much of it. It looks like a slight nude/pink with a little something extra in the center, right? WRONG. There is just something as to how this transforms flat skin from evening everything out with your foundation to just glow-y goodness. Whoever named this blush, you win all the awards, because I think the color is just that- just a SLIGHT flush, as you’re starting to get these feelings you’ve never had before, and you’re all twitter-pated. The method to these Swish and Pop blushes is that you take your brush along the outer-ring (SWISH) and apply from your cheek brushing back towards your hair. Then, you POP your brush into the center color, and then POP the color onto the apples of your cheeks. I don’t think I’ll ever just wear one blush color every again, this method is fantastic!
Accompanying First Love with this look is the one lipstick I picked out from the line, with the most hilarious name- Bitch Perfect. You wanna know the truth? I honestly just bought this color because of the name. COME ON THAT NAME IS HILARIOUS. You can tell Charlotte knows this is a fool-proof perfect color for anyone and everyone, and made sure to have it stand out with an in-your-face name. This lipstick is one out of 10 from the “K.I.S.S.I.N.G.” line, and is just that perfect pink color. But don’t think it’s just that- there is the most subtle golden shimmer in there as well! I didn’t catch it at first when I researched pictures and swatches online, but when I saw how the color swatched on the second model on Beautylish’s website, I saw how the gold shimmer really help reflect light off her lips. As for the formula, it’s very creamy and applies easily. You will need to reapply for touch-ups throughout the day, but the color and feel of the lipstick is absolutely worth it. Plus, slight vanilla scent is never a bad thing in my book! Another A+++++ product!
Last but not least is my other Swish and Pop blush in the color Love Glow. Another standing ovation to the person who created these names, it’s just right on. You get just a slight more pink kick in this blush compared to First Love, but it’s still beautiful. There is just a little sheen to the outer ring, but nothing so strong as to make you want to skip using your highlighter. Admittedly, I don’t think it’s as unique as First Love, but this is another color I think I can use all year round, especially in Winter and Spring. There are a total of 5 blushes in the line, and with names like Ecstasy, Love is the Drug, and Climax, they make THIS biddy blush… and want to collect them all. ^_^;;;
I thought this would be all I would purchase from Charlotte Tilbury, but my heart couldn’t pass a couple more products, which I’ll post tomorrow! As for the ones mentioned today, I honestly would highly recommend them if you’ve got the money to spend. This is the only cruelty free beauty line that’s priced right up there with luxury lines like Chanel, Dior, and YSL. Just save your pennies, and pray that Nordstrom stores will soon carry the line in store so you can play with all the products in person. If you ask me though….. yes, they’re worth it 😉
