Milani is PETA and Leaping Bunny Certified

It’s recently come to my attention that Milani is not only PETA certified, but they have also worked with Leaping Bunny and now have their certification as well. From Milani’s website FAQ directly:

Does your company test on animals?

“Milani Cosmetics is a cruelty-free brand. We do not test our products on animals, nor do we allow others to test on our behalf. Additionally, we require our suppliers to certify that the raw materials used in the manufacture of our products are not tested on animals. Our Brand is certified by both PETA and The Leaping Bunny Program (CCIC) as cruelty-free.”

This is great news, as Leaping Bunny is pretty much the A+ of cruelty-free labeling. They even coordinated a section on their website that lists all vegan products too! Admittedly though, I’m still a little hesitant after the whole conundrum that went down in May-June of this year. In short, someone reached out to Milani asking about their CF stance and the company representative replied with something that would not be considered CF. More bloggers got involved, accounts were blocked on Facebook and other sites, and it just turned into a slightly ugly mess. I think this did motivate Milani to take the extra step and meet with Leaping Bunny standards, which is a smart move to get a lot of their customers back. I think I might just be hard-headed though… what do you all think? Are you ready and rearin’ to get some hauls going again at the drugstore, or are there still scars back from the summer? I’d love to hear your thoughts, the floor is open for discussion!

Poor Milani for having to jump through so many hoops and pay so much money to Leaping Bunny to be certified after that ding-dong employee of theirs started that fiasco about them not being cruelty-free. But I agree that Leaping Bunny is like A+ verification so hopefully this will boost their sales 🙂 I love Milani 🙂

Exciting! Despite the whole mess, Leaping Bunny is a legit step and I think that is what matters in the end. Mistakes happen and to have this certification obviously shows this was an important issue so good for them! More drugstore options is always amazing 🙂 I wonder if this has any relation to Jordana stuff since they are under the same company?

I don’t trust PETA at all, but I do trust Leaping Bunny. I will start supporting Milani again, because I want to encourage Leaping Bunny Certification over PETA. Plus, I don’t want a company to get frustrated at returning to cruelty free status and then be all “what’s the point?” … I could also just be putting way too much thought into a businesses feelings 🙂

i dont trust PETA but i do Leaping Bunny. I think it was a bad employee that started the whole problem giving out wrong info rather than the company hiding anything.

This is great news! I love their blushes and lipsticks, so I’m happy to hear they’re back to being officially cruelty free 🙂

I was super happy to see the Leaping Bunny announcement! I trust them over PETA and think while Milani has some internal BS to deal with, there was no mal-intent on their part. I can’t wait to grab some more products!
