A look into beauty, that doesn't harm our furry friends
Now that I’ve moved to a new place, I’m also ready to take on some new beauty habits. First and foremost, I’ve been pretty keen on an idea fellow cruelty free beauty blogger Brianna from Cruelty Free Me mentioned in one of her most recent blog posts here. She keeps a tray of makeup items she’ll use for the week/month on top of her vanity, and that’s what she goes for. No digging into her stash of makeup, just focusing on some goodies/”tried-and-true”/things that need a little TLC after neglect.
Keepin’ it real with you all, but I’ve barely worn any makeup in the past month, so I really needed a new habit to get my booty back in gear, and I think this is a winner! Let’s take a look at what I picked up for the ETA week:
Lips (left to right)
Highlighters (left to right)
All the stuff for eyes!
All that goodness just stays in this little box, on top of my vanity. No more looking through every-single-lipstick color to decide on what to wear- for the week, I’m just limited to what’s in my box! I’m writing this on Wednesday evening, and I’ve been holding true to the rules, not reaching for other color options in my collection, and in all honesty it’s made makeup application a lot easier! Granted, I may not have the best color combinations, but I can make a look work! This also really helps me gather my thoughts on certain things I could probably just let sit in the back of my collection and gather dust. I’m especially bad with that for samples, but I’ve been putting that new Nars foundation to the test, and I’ll use it up by the end of this week, HUZZAH (and thank goodness- but I’ll fill you in on a Sample Sunday!).
The only exception to other products I can use are what you can see here, which mainly consists of brushes and some extra eye goodies (primers, liners, clear mascara). If I could only use 5 brushes for a week, I think I’d be in a pinch, because I am -horrible- with just setting for the basics. I love my options!
Do any of you organize your makeup like this? Or do you like having your whole collection at your disposal? I’d love to hear the methods, it gives me inspiration!
