Blushing Biddies

A look into beauty, that doesn't harm our furry friends

Sample Sunday: A birthday gift from Nars

I’m a little late on posting this, but last month was my birthday and I was able to pick up my Sephora VIB Rouge gift. If you’re a VIB or BI (Beauty Insider), you’ll get just the lip pencils, but VIB Rouges got an extra kick with the black eyeliner. Let’s take a peek inside!

From top to bottom, I received a mini Larger than Life Longwear Eyeliner in Black, a mini Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella, and a mini Satin Lip Pencil in Rikugien. All minis, all super-adorable!

L to R: eyeliner, Cruella, Rikugien

I’m really thankful that this year’s birthday gift is cruelty free. I believe last year it wasn’t, so when I asked about it in store they kindly gave me a deluxe sample of something that was. I think.. last year was such a long time ago ^^;; I’ve been able to try all of these out, and I think the eyeliner and Cruella have won my heart. The eyeliner is creamy to apply, black as black can be, and seriously -does not BUDGE- until you take some makeup remover to it. Cruella is just a stunning color, a bold cool-toned red that doesn’t seem too “in your face”, if that makes sense? Not to say that Rikugien isn’t that great, it’s just that the color is -so- basic and neutral. That, along with the formula of a Satin lip pencil not lasting as long as the Velvet Matte pencils, it just doesn’t take the cake.

Have you gotten your hands on these yet? Or are you looking forward to it when your birthday rolls around? All I’ve gotta say is, thank goodness they’re CF and not already in my beauty collection!

ALSO- You can see these lippies in action in my Nars Lippy Collection swatch video! <3<3<3
