A look into beauty, that doesn't harm our furry friends
I finally made my first purchase on QVC! I’m usually not swayed by big product pairings, but everything in this kit looked pretty good to me. Plus, at a price break of -$113 off for everything at regular retail price (and my regular CC+ cream being over halfway gone and regularly retailing at $38), it didn’t take a lot of convincing to help me place my order. I’ll break it down the prices at the end, but let’s just jump into everything that came in the box!
For the record: the packaging was perfection! Nothing was array, just pristine and pretty to unwrap!
First up, the Vitality Face Disk. I seriously chuckle every time I say that title out loud… face disk, hehe! Inside this massive palette is half matte bronzer, 1/4 highlighter and a 1/4 blush. The plus side of it being in a huge palette is that the mirror is huge as well. The compact isn’t super thick though, so I could see myself bringing this on trips to ensure I had a decent mirror to work from. Although the bronzer swatch looks a bit warm, it actually compliments my skin very well, and I’m super pleased! Truth me told, the highlight of the show is hands down the highlighter. Just the glow it can add to your face, it’s insane! I’d highly suggest checking out my latest GRWM video so you can see it in action, along with other items in this 5-piece set!
Next up is the Luxe High Performance eyeshadow trio. Again, the colors aren’t anything outlandish or unusual, these are pretty safe neutral colors that would work well on light to medium skin-tones. Already owning the It Cosmetics Naturally Pretty Volume 1 Matte Luxe eyeshadow palette, my expectations were high enough for what I felt their formula should be at, and these did not disappoint. The colors swatched somewhat “boringly” on my hand, but on the lids it came out rather flattering. They lasted all day without creasing or fading, and just felt good to apply on the lid. The highlight color is the only one worth cautioning about, as when I swatched it it seemed to brush away very easily (the last close-up above is after swatching them, and the IT logo on the highlight is almost completely gone!).
This is the one thing in the pack that I haven’t tested too much- the CC+ Illumination cream. I’ve only tried it once, in a GRWM I attempted to film and it turned out to be a no-go because of the lighting *sigh*. To the untrained eye, this looks exactly like the regular CC+ cream. Yet if you really look close, you can see little bits of glitter and sparkle. I think I’ll be diluting this formula with my normal cream, or targeting specific areas when I dot this on my face. As for feel and wear, this is the exact same as to the original, so no worries there. Just be careful not to wear this with any flash photography!
One of the main reasons I purchased this kit is because of the brushes. I’m a huge It Cosmetics brush fan- they only use synthetic bristles, and to this date I haven’t felt any other synthetic brush come close to the softness and quality these have. Especially in the Ulta-excluve Live Beauty Fully line, I am so impressed with what they’ve been able to produce! That being said, they aren’t your drugstore prices you’re hoping for. So with the price break this kit offers, I was hoping to fall in love with the Heavenly Luxe line. To be short, I think it’s a great brush, but they fall short in comparison to the ones I’ve been collecting. The dual-ended eye brush you can’t tell so much, and it works fine as it. One side is meant for shadows on the lid, where the other is meant to smudge things in closer to the lash line. It’s more of the Radiance Wand brush where you can feel the quality difference when you touch the bristles. It’s still softer than anything at the drugstore, just not as amazing as the Live Beauty Fully line. Regardless of the comparison, both brushes helped apply product to my face with ease, and I’m content enough in adding them to my collection. Just remember, Live Beauty Fully < Heavenly Luxe.
Also in the kit there was a small sample of the Bye Bye Undereye concealer, which I’ll gladly take because I already love it! Furthermore, there was a pamphlet that explained each product with a little more depth. Always appreciated for the forgetful gal such as myself!
The retail price for everything in this kit is $172, but at a special QVC price I was able to pick mine up at $59.99! Just added a couple more bucks because of tax and S&H, but still I’m pleased with the price break I was able to get my hands on! Have I converted to being a full-fledged QVC shopper? Not really- but I’m willing to keep an eye on them to see if they have any other great offers from IT Cosmetics, because it’s just a go-to line I can trust. Most of these items you can get at Ulta now. The only exceptions are the Radiance Wand brush, and the eyeshadow trio (the colors are QVC only, but there are other color combinations on the Ulta website). Anything in here sound up your alley? Don’t forget you can check out my GRWM video to see 4/5 of these in action!
